Great Northern Roasting is back from the SCAA show in Minneapolis, coffeed, rested and ready to take on the summer season of 2008. As we near the onset of Traverse City's tourist influx, there are some new items that will be appearing here on the site and around town displaying our love for the one thing that makes our coffee what it is: Fire.
    For those in the need to know category, Pyrolysis is the chemical decomposition of organic materials by heating, bringing about a chemical change to green coffee as it is roasted. It is also the method by which all coffee is roasted. While Pyrolysis is itself a special case of Thermolysis, all that is really important to remember is that our fire is what makes our coffee great.

    We have fire in our bellies and coffee in our veins. Passion for the world of coffee is what we live in and it is what we strive to inspire in those who seek to live beyond mere caffeine consumption. Coffee is more than complex. It is an alluring, evolving matrix that runs the world. Great Northern Roasting is here to share our wisdom, while searching for more knowledge in the process. We will not stand still.
